The Federal Council is commissioned to: 1. examine how joint parental custody can be promoted for parents who are not or no longer married to each other and whether joint parental custody can be implemented as a rule; 2. to submit to Parliament, if necessary, proposals for a revision of the relevant provisions of the Civil Code .
