On December 10, 2007, International Human Rights Day, the Swiss Association for Shared Parenting was founded as a network of more than a dozen organizations. This was announced in a press release from the organization . www.gecobi.ch

We at VeV are very proud to have contributed to making this founding possible. For about two years, we have been bringing together various organizations from all over Switzerland in regular meetings, and together we have prepared and implemented this development.

We are particularly pleased that Oliver Hunziker, the designated president of VeV Switzerland and one of our most active members, sits on the executive committee of the new organization.

GeCoBi is an acronym formed from the initial letters of the words "Gemeinsame Elternschaft" (Joint Parenthood) in the three national languages of German, French, and Italian. Under this name, the association has now formed a network with an appointed executive committee.

GeCoBi prioritizes the needs of children. While VeV and many other member organizations traditionally originate from the fathers' movement, GeCoBi aims to break new ground and place greater emphasis on the approach of shared parental responsibility, as demanded in the recently presented draft legislation.

GeCoBi, as a national organization, is intended to coordinate the efforts of its member organizations and represent them at the national level.

We say: Happy Birthday GeCoBi
