ALLEGED ABUSE:
Late vindication: After two years behind bars, a 55-year-old man has now been acquitted of the charge of sexually abusing his daughter. The girl fabricated the accusations, it was stated. The father will now be compensated – with eleven euros for he served in prison.

The young woman has now revised her statement. She admitted that she had accused her father because she didn't want to spend her weekends with him after her parents' divorce. The sexual abuse never occurred. The court therefore overturned the first-instance verdict. The small consolation: For the two prison sentences already served, the court awarded the 55-year-old eleven euros per day in compensation – slightly more than 8000 euros. In the proceedings, the Waldshut-Tiengen Regional Court questioned, among others, a psychologist who specializes in statements from witnesses and victims. He said that fabricated crimes and baseless accusations occur repeatedly. Often, psychological problems are the cause. In this particular case, the girl was distressed by her parents' divorce. She also claimed to have experienced sexual violence, not from her father, but from other men. Both the man's defense attorney and the prosecutor argued for acquittal. VeV commentAs much as this man deserves to finally leave prison, this verdict does nothing to change the scandalous fact that he was convicted beforehand. Convicted based on the testimony of a single person. Convicted of being wrongfully imprisoned, socially ostracized, professionally ruined, and rejected by his own family. For these are all the consequences that such an accusation and subsequent conviction entail. This example illustrates how quickly a person's life can be destroyed. It shows how easily, especially for men, one foot in prison, even if they have done absolutely nothing wrong. In this case, the daughter herself triggered the accusation. However, it remains unclear whether the mother may have instigated it in connection with the divorce proceedings. We experience this approach repeatedly in our practice; it invariably results in an immense advantage for the claimant party in the parallel divorce proceedings, to the detriment of the defendant party. This is a legal scandal! This practice must be stopped as quickly and unequivocally as possible. Authorities and courts are called upon to find the necessary instruments to put an end to the abuse of abuse. Here, people are being destroyed without cause, connections between children and their fathers are being deliberately severed, and children and fathers are being emotionally crippled, all with the aim of gaining personal advantage. And – it reduces the credibility of those who have been true victims of abuse, but who risk being lost in the mass of false accusations. This punishes the real victims a second time! |
