The time has come!

The phone rang at VeV at 2:00 this morning. It was the father of the two boys, Christian and Cassio Scherrer.
Completely distraught, he reported that his two boys were already in Brazil!
What had happened?

Following the highly questionable police action last Tuesday, in which the boys were ultimately handed over to their mother, contact with their father practically ceased. The children were largely isolated and were only able to have two brief telephone conversations with their father, with whom they had lived for the past two years. In both conversations, the children reaffirmed their desire to stay and, if necessary, to resist their departure. This stance of the children had, of course, not escaped their mother's notice.

In direct discussions with the responsible court in Bremgarten, the children's father attempted to arrange at least a farewell meeting at the airport. This was promised to him, and he was assured that the mother would be instructed accordingly. However, it can be assumed that this promise was never kept.

As recently as Friday, Christian Scherrer (the father) assumed that his children would fly out on Tuesday evening and that he would be given a time window of approximately 2-3 hours to say goodbye.

Last night came the shocking news: The children are already in Brazil. Apparently, the mother and children departed from Zurich yesterday at 12:15 pm and landed in Brazil around midnight.

Christian Scherrer suspects that his children did not go willingly; he assumes that the children were sedated. This suspicion is supported by a statement Christian Junior made to a close relative, to whom he said that he "fell asleep in the car and only woke up again in Brazil.".

This statement naturally fuels speculation and reinforces suspicions that not everything went correctly during this departure. Perhaps, after the difficulties with the 13-year-old girl a few weeks ago, it was clear that measures had to be taken to prevent similar incidents. Children desperately resisting at the aircraft entrance are a troubling situation.
The VeV's designated physician, consulted by the authorities, confirms that appropriate medication options do exist. According to him, children of this age can be very easily calmed down. If this is what happened in this case, it would be an unprecedented scandal!

We therefore urge the authorities involved to immediately clarify the circumstances of this departure, also in the interest of their own credibility.

From the children's perspective, we consider the events of the past few days traumatic. First, the prolonged fear of the police, then the sudden police raid in the middle of the night, followed by the quasi-captivity in a dubious environment, and finally, practically an abduction to Brazil. All of this within just a few days, according to the VeV's medical advisor, is causing enormous stress and can have long-term consequences for the children's development.

The mother may be legally in the right in this case, but morally she is definitely in the wrong.
It's possible the mother has won – the only certainty is that the children have lost!
