On October 24, 2024, the second panel discussion for professionals organized by the VeV took place at the Karussell Family Center in Baden. Moderated by GeCoBi President Oliver Hunziker, the professionals present on the panel discussed issues related to the implementation of alternating custody, the prevention of alienation, and the challenges faced by professionals.

The following people were on the podium:
Maya Bally, National Councillor for the Centre of Aargau
Christina Winter, Family Law Attorney, Basel
Ignaz Heim, Specialist KESB, Guardianship, Gipf-Oberfrick
Andrea Staubli, Mediator, Baden
Sandra Wey, President VABB (Association of Professional Advisors)
Anonymous, affected person

The key findings of the engaging panel discussion were very similar to those of the parallel event in June in Oensingen. Here, too, it became clear that the implementation of existing laws is very difficult, and unfortunately, the interpretation of the laws is still very broad and varied. This leads to legal uncertainty for the families affected, as the outcome of a procedure is often linked to the location where it takes place.
All those present repeatedly referred to the promising experimental arrangements in Bern, Basel, and elsewhere.

The subsequent discussion with the audience was just as engaging; the voices of the parents concerned were clearly audible, but in a constructive manner.

will also hold further events as part of the GeCoBi Enough Tears campaign
