Bern, 03/14/2011 - The round table for common parental responsibility, which Federal Councilor Simonetta Sommaruga announced in mid -February, will take place on April 15, 2011 in Bern. The head of the Federal Justice and Police Department (EJPD) has invited representatives of various mothers, fathers, family and child protection organizations to exchange ideas.
The EJPD informed the Federal Council on January 12, 2011 that the submission on the shared parental concern will now also regulate questions of maintenance law. This expansion is intended to improve the situation of the parent who mainly looks after the child.
The responsibility of the parents for the children or the common children does not end with a divorce. The participants of the round table will exchange ideas with Federal Councilor Sommaruga about the various aspects of this common parental responsibility. At the center of the discussion at the round table, the child's well -being will be placed
