Thank you National Council!
The National Council today approved the proposal on shared parental custody with 151 votes to 13 and 9 abstentions. 8 years after the proposal by former National Councilor Reto Wehrli, the deal was passed with a clear majority in the large chamber and transferred to the small chamber.
What is particularly striking is the vehemence and clarity with which the Council recognized and eliminated the various minority proposals and disruptive maneuvers. He moved forward unswervingly and unshakably and did not allow himself to be derailed. Disruptive maneuvers that were designed solely to overturn or at least delay the matter were recognized as such and rejected.
Now things continue in the small chamber, but the bill is on track, the National Council has made it clear with the clear result where the journey should lead.
