The Federal Council considers alternating care to be good for the child in many cases.

This finding corresponds exactly to the position of VeV Switzerland - alternating custody cannot become the norm, as is the case with joint custody. There are far too many individual factors that are decisive for this.

On the other hand, alternating care should become the “first choice”, the preferred model. It would first be examined whether alternating care is possible, and only if this has to be answered in the negative would other forms of care be examined.
