Every child has the right to their parents to be able to develop healthily and find their personality. The younger a child is, the shorter the periods of time between two contacts with one and the other parent must be; and this completely independent of his parents' living situation.
The contact between a child and his parents is like a plant that needs to be nourished regularly. If the diet is too one-sided, an essential basis for life is missing. …
These principles are at the heart of the VeV consultant's virtual VeV consultation meeting for children and parents who would like to structure mutual contact differently. When it comes to contact between parents and children, it is less the quantity that is important than the quality and the connecting elements of regular contact. New media make it possible to pay particular attention to this aspect, but cannot replace regular personal contact.
My name is Emmanuel and I have been working for VeV for several years.
Children have two parents and should be able to maintain good contact with both parents even if there are difficulties on the couple or parent level. Particularly in the event of separation, it is important that the children get to know the new framework of their relationship with both parents as early as possible and can thus find new anchor points in their lives.
It is therefore crucial that parents deal with the issue at an early stage, get help if necessary and also find good solutions for secondary aspects of relationship maintenance such as the material conditions. Every “Child” project must be continued in the interests of the child, even in difficult situations.
